pentecostal grace

stay saved

Yes. I am a pentecostal who is saved by grace

I got saved correctly: "Lord forgive me for my bad works, and forgive me for my good works--which are filthy rags in your site."

There are a lot of  preachers who are trying to convince their audiences to somehow,  "stay saved." or "keep yourselves saved"

We cannot keep ourselves 'saved.' God is the one who keeps us saved.

Jude: 21 (in bold print below) is very interesting

The words in Jude 21 are similar to Jesus' words in John 15: 1-6

1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

The above verses in John and the Jude verse are not speaking of keeping ourselves saved by doing good things, but by staying with the Lord in prayer and in lifestyle

Both, Pentecostal and charismatic churches work together to share the knowledge of salvation, but some pastors try to convince their people that they can lose their salvation at any time.

While some pastors are complaining and saying that people are in apostasy because their church attendance is down--Charismatic churches are growing. God is sending people to Charismatic churches that have a light-hearted atmosphere of praise and encouragement.

God does not drive His people into the ground so that church is not fun; just the opposite-We rejoice in our salvation. I write this because years ago I realized that I couldn't bring new believers to the Pentecostal church I was attending because they would inherit the coldness of relationship that the pastors have for God.

However, sending people to Charismatic churches allows them to grow fruitful in the "knowledge of God."

Charismatic churches are like God's garden, where people grow and bloom like flowers. I invite you to be saved by grace alone, and realize that Paul's writings that say, "grow in the knowledge of God" (particularly Ephesians) actually means grow in the relationship with God. It does not mean, "grow in theology"

There are Pentecostals who have been "saved" for over 20 years, and they're still not 100% certain that they are saved. Has God never told them that they're part of His family--He won't throw them in a fire. I am not like them. I am saved. My testimony is:

I am a praise fairy.  I am saved by grace alone.  Hallelujah

It is true that there are some "Christians" who are living a sinful lifestyle, and they do need to hear every week, that they are in danger of hell fire, but that has nothing to do with you or me--We are already living for the Lord

If you want to do good works to make sure your saved, as many pentecostal preachers say you should; you might want to read what work Jesus told His listeners to perform: John chapter 6:

"27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat which endurath to everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you; for him hath God the Father sealed.

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent" (KJV John 6: 27-29)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are verses in the New Testament that basically say: "You are saved..If you continue in Christ."

"Moreover, brethren I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if you keep in memory that which I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain." (1Cor 15: 1-2 KJV)

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Rom 8: 1 KJV)

The two verses above, if taken by themselves, sound  like there are "believers" who believed in "vain" and are still going to hell, and also that there are those in Christ Jesus who don't walk after the Spirit, and are condemned.

You have not believed in vain. "Vain" means "for no real reason" You are a praise fairy, giving glory to God. People who have believed in "vain" are described by Jude. He says that they are people who walk after their own lusts:

JUDE: 8-21

8 "Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities"

9 "Yet Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed  about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, the Lord rebuke thee"

10 "But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves"

11 "These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;"

12 "Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever."

13 " And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints"

14 "To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him"

16 " These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage."

17 " But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;"

18 "How that they told you their should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts."

19 "These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit."

20 "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,"

21 "Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ"

But you and I are "Praisers;" we have not believed in vain. We are part of verse 20. Pentecostal preachers like to say that they know "we aren't saved by works, but that we have to keep ourselves in the love of God." However, they imply that to keep ourselves in the love of God (verse 21), we must be about His business; working hard and evangelizing hard, and attending Sunday School services before church starts etc.

But we simply follow verse 20 in order  to fulfill verse 21.

Concerning the Romans verse (copied below):

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Rom 8: 1 KJV)

It sounds like there are some  people who are in Christ, yet not walking after the Spirit, but It must be remembered that Romans 8: 9 says that you are in the Spirit.

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

We are not the "if" people. We are continuing in Christ. The epistles were written to 1st century groups of believers who had pagan half believers in their midst. These half believers   would hear about Christ and believe (to some degree), but they would also make sacrifices to Roman gods, and commit adultery--which pagan priests did not look down upon. These kind of people might stop believing in Christ, and would not continue in Christ; they would go off into their own kind of pagan belief system. They would not continue in Christ. However, you and I are not like them. We do continue to abide in Christ.

A Pentecostal preacher was preaching, and telling us to pray everyday that we might be worthy for heaven (based on the scripture below):

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." (Luke 21: 36 KJV)

I wanted to tell him that I'm already saved  and that Jesus' words above were prophetic, and spoken to Jews that would be alive to see the antichrist's destruction of the temple. The words above are what the Jewish race needs to pray. But you and I are already saved--By grace, not works.

It is not what I do that keeps me saved, but how pure the sacrifice was, that was offered for my salvation, that keeps me saved--Jesus was the pure sacrifice who gave me a real born again experience. All sins gone.

Either you had a fake born again experience, or a real one. Either all of your sins are forgiven by Christ or none of them. Christ did not forgive just some of your sins.

The whole issue of losing one's salvation is a misnomer--it should never come up.

However, there are some Christians who choose to "believe the gospel" instead of" repenting and believe the gospel". Those people who don't repent of their sins, do not love  the Lord--if they end up in hell, that is their problem. They think that God gives us a choice:

Believe the gospel.

or

Repent and believe the gospel.

If there are criminals who keep guns in there houses, or pornographers who keep pornography in their houses, clearly they are not repenting. This article is not for them--Unless, of course, they repent. Anyone can repent of sins,  at anytime; even on their deathbeds (but common sense tells me that "repentance" is throwing something away, and not just merely "planning" on getting rid of sin at some point in the future-- I have never heard of a salvation where people keep sin in their house, because it means that they don't like fellowship with God--They don't love Him. They like fellowship with sin.  "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me" (John 14: 23-24 KJV)

It is time for some people to repent. The 15th chapter of Luke teaches that God readily accepts one who repents (particularly the Prodigal Son). Don't let people, or demons tell you that you can't repent because your sins are too great, or that repenting takes a long time and that you will have to undergo a probationary period before you are fully restored.

If you want to know what Christ went through to cover our sins; watch "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" (Classic kid's movie from the 1960's), where Rudolph is on the ice float, right after he says, "Goodbye Herme, whatever a dentist is, I hope that someday, you're the greatest." (About 36 minutes into the movie). Then you will get an idea of Jesus faced when He was going to the cross to take the ENTIRE wrath of God for us. There is no way you can add to His sacrifice to help keep yourself saved.

Don't let some common demon (or person) tell you that you cannot be 100% sure that you are saved.

The reason people go to hell is not because of a lack of good works, but because of sin. Therefore, you can not keep yourself saved by doing good works. You can only keep yourself saved by  being cleansed of sin--And that, by a sacrifice (not a sacrifice of works, but by Christ's perfect sacrifice). The only acceptable sacrifice is the one that was offered one time only:

"Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and the for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself " (Heb 7: 27)

We are not to remember our sins:

"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God." (Heb 9: 14 KJV)

"For then must he often suffer since the foundation of the world: but now once, in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself" (Heb 9: 26 KJV)

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Heb 9: 29 KJV)

"By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all...Let us draw near with a true heart and full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water." (Heb 9: 14, 22 KJV)

It is interesting that  it is not just Jesus, who loves us, but the Father does as well.

It is not just the Spirit of the Son who lives in us, but He is also the Spirit of the Father

as well:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, he shall testify of me" (John 15: 26 KJV)

"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."  (Gal 4: 6 KJV)

"For the Father himself loveth you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God" (John 16: 27 KJV)

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3: 9 KJV)

"Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light" (Col 1: 12 KJV)

"and this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son" (1 John 5: 11 KJV)

"Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father." (Gal 1: 4 KJV)

"All that the Father giveth to me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out"  (John 6: 37 KJV)

"No man can come to me except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6: 44 KJV)

According to the verses above; we do not only have an advocate (a lawyer), but the judge himself, (God), is on our side as well--no wonder the devil hates us so much.

The above verses show that God is for us, and the verse below show that Jesus is for us:

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7: 25 KJV)
